Applicants for a Bachelor program who have a non-German citizenship
The following documentation must accompany any application:
- School and Higher Education Certificates
- School certificates must show or be accompanied by documents showing marks awarded. The International Office will determine the validity and acceptability of such certificates.
- Applicants with Chinese nationality have their certificates to be proofed by the "Akademische Prüfstelle" in Peking; please enclose the certificate to your application papers.
- Feststellungsprüfung of a Studienkolleg in Germany. For curses in Business Administration only the certificate of a W-Kurs can be accepted and has to be ahnded in with the relevant school leaving and university certificates.
Work Placement
If you have undertaken a placement and wish us to recognise it, you must send us documentary evidence. The placement must have been full-time, have lasted two months and have involved relevant work. That is to say, it must have been in some relevant business function such as accounting, sales marketing, IT, administration or similar.
Language competence
German
We will need evidence of competence in German. We accept from the Goethe institute: "ZOP", "Kleines" or "Großes Deutsches Sprachdiplom"; the certificate from a 'W-Course' in a "Studienkolleg" in Germany, the DSH-2 from a German university, a special certificate acknowledged by the HRK in Germany, or a certificate from Test-Daf with level "4" as an average.
Statements of attendance at such courses are similarly not sufficient.

English
All applicants must have at least an intermediate level of competence in English. German applicants will normally have taken English for 5 -7 years in school and teaching at FHLU is based upon this assumption.

- transcript of records and/or Unbedenklichkeitsbescheinigung
All documents must be supplied both in the form of an authenticated original and (when necessary) with an authenticated translation in a modern European language (German, English, French or Spanish)
Please note that photocopies of authenticated documents cannot be accepted!

Make sure you have up-to-date information
- about the allocation of places in the German colleges which you are interested in applying to;
- the conditions for obtaining a visa or a student visa in your home country. Contact the local German consulate.
- By enrolment at the latest you must have a valid Student Visa. Without this, you will not be able to enrol!
